Meet Your Guide
Chef Didier Durand has spent his life bringing people together through food.
Born in Bergerac, France, Didier came to Chicago in 1986 and quickly became part of the city's renowned French culinary scene. After working in some of Chicago's finest French restaurants, he opened Cyrano's Bistrot in River North in 1996—a restaurant named after the legendary French poet, dramatist, and duelist Cyrano de Bergerac, whose hometown was also Didier's birthplace.
Chef Didier's philosophy has always been simple:
“Good food makes people happy.”
Today, he brings that same philosophy to his culinary tours. Since 2019, Chef Didier has been sharing his France with American travelers, creating experiences that go far beyond the typical tourist itinerary.
He knows the food. He knows the history. He knows the people.
